  • France and Daverkosen Easy Chairs

    Hello all,

I just joined this forum today after searching a long time for the designer of this pair of Easy Chairs with Ottomane. The chairs were produced by France and Daverkosen, the Ottomanes by John Stuart Inc. I think that I was scanning all chairs designed by Grete Jalk, Ole Wanscher, Finn Juhl, Peter Hviedt, O. Molgaard Nielsen but did not find anything yet. Might be that it was designed by an unknown person, but it really looks valuable and like a very good craftswork. Can anyone help with informations about these Chairs?
    Thank you in advance,

    Michael

I can't really see the details on your France-mark. I have a put a picture of my sofa (incl the "seal" here:http://www.precisensan.com/antikforu...ead.php?t=6431
      Does your mark resemble mine?
Unfortunately, I haven't heard of John Stuart Inc before.

Your furniture are both very nice. Looks like good craftmanship!

Here are two marks from France & Daverkosen. Tornardo´s mark is the one to the right.

              Here is Your Armchair:

They didn't state the designer, which I think they would if it was known.

I'm not sure that the armchair and ottoman actually were a pair originally. They have a slightly different approach to me. John Stuart Inc was a salesfirm in the US, and they sold different brands (with their own mark on it). Is there a France-mark on the ottoman as well?

I just found an US website which says that Stuart was selling F&D furniture.
However, do you think there is a realistic market for these items (2 chairs and 2 ottomanes same condition and colour) to sell via Internet? Or would it be better to give it to an auctionator?

Personally, I don't have the slightest idea. I'm only an admirer of these furniture, not a dealer.
